After 5 days of relaxing on Bocas we´ve made the move and crossed the panama-costa rica border again. We are now in Cahuita for at least a day and then we will head back to Turrialba to pick up some things we left behind and I will head to somewhere near the san jose airport […]

Tomorrow I’m diving Bocas del Toro. We’ll see how it goes and how the water is. The town of Bocas del Toro/isla colon or whatever they call is not that great in my mind. I guess I’m still searching for that perfect place that blends remote with slightly modern. Punta Allen and Koh Phi Phi. […]

The past two days I’ve been diving a lot, 2 times yesterday and as of now I’ve done 2 today and will have a night dive tonight. Not much else to post since we’ve just been diving mostly.

Hello! We’re still in Flores and it’s really nice out here with lago de itza peten outside of the hotel and the weather is warm, almost too warm, just kidding! Yesterday we rented a 13passenger van, which was 50quetzales/person and headed to Tikal at 6am. The drive was nice and cool in the […]

Today we woke up at 4:00am to head for the bus to Flores, Guatemala. The bus was nothing special but had lots of legroom. The trip which was to take 8 hours took 12+ due to the driver delivering goods to people along the way and the wheel whose lugnuts decided to keep coming loose. […]

My bus leaves in 15 minutes after a long day of figuring out how to get from Punta Allen back to Tulum. Everything finally worked out and Tobasco and I took the launcha to Muyil and from there we picked up a ride to Tulum. Now I’m here and on my way to Playa to […]

So today, I woke up and Tobasco was ready to vamanos to get 3 kayaks down the road. He had his boat on the Caribbean side and we moved the sea’yaks 250m or so into his boat and then took another boat ride. We went around Punta Allen (the true point) and there is a […]

Well it’s been awhile since yesterday was kind of busy with boating and signage, etc…
I met Kid, an older canadian who helped build Playa del Carmen and Kerry for some pescado quesadillas and cerveza. They’re working on having a new guest house/small restaurant/kayak thing going in the next week so I’ve heard about that and […]

After a rather rainy morning in Tulum, I had a breakfast/lunch of Chille Rellenos and a cerveza. I then waited for my combivan to take me to Punta Allen. We left at 2:30pm and arrived around 5:00pm. The road was narrow, extremely bumpy, wet and sometimes very slow going. Nevertheless, on parts of the road […]

I made it to Tulum with no problems other than the wait at customs in the airport. The town is fairly small and nice though my room was kind of pricey. However, after the past day and a half or so I wanted my own room because it´s 6pm now, and I think it will […]
